Robert Pearce City Councillor, Ward 3

Yesterday, the City’ presented a very lengthy Climate Strategy report to the Standing Policy Committee on Environment, Utilities and Corporate Services,. I’ve heard from a few people about it and their concerns, and so I thought it might be a good idea to share an overview of 100+ page report and where things stand as of today.

The report outlines an extensive roadmap covering climate adaptation, resilience, energy efficiency, transportation, and natural infrastructure, and while the proposed actions are projected to reduce emissions, the City’s own modelling indicates they still fall well short of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

To save you time and make the report easier to understand, I put together the infographic below highlighting the key proposals, findings, and questions it raises. I hope you find it helpful.
